Statement of intent
My idea for my tv
documentary is about a murder that had happened in a home for teenagers in care.
I will not be including any graphic imagery in my poster that will disturb
younger audiences. I do not indent to use gore or anything a child wouldn’t want
to see I plan to release this in the cinemas on October 20th closer
to the spooky season.
I plan to use a dark colour scheme with bold letters to make
the documentary look intriguing and to drawl people in I want to create mystery
and suspense not hinting to much about the documentary at self to make people
feel the need to watch it to find out how the murder happened or if that person
even died. Because my documentary involves a murder it would have to be
broadcasted after 9 o’clock meaning its more suitable to be watched by teens
and adults.
I’m aiming to set out
a message to viewers that death can happen anywhere at any time even to the
people who don’t deserve it to make my poster and message stand out lighting
and camera angles will be key to make an eye-catching image for the audiences.
For my posters I intend to use a photo including a blurred
silhouette of a teen looking out a window with bars and the text in a large
font for the title ‘who protects the unprotected’ and in a smaller font for the
tagline ‘a documentary about children in care and a search for justice’ with a
colour pallet or musky blues, greys and reds. For another head line I’m using
an alliteration to symbolise emotion within the documentary going by the words
of ‘doomed, deranged and damned’ For my other 3 posters I plan to use a picture
of a teen sat with their head in their lap in the corner of a room to show the emotions of the characters in the
documentary and to show a sense of feeling trapped in order for viewers to feel
what the characters are feeling, a picture of an empty swing set to create
sense of loneliness and suspense hinting these are young people. Lastly a
picture of a barred wall creating the idea of no escape and the characters
feeling trapped in a place that is meant to feel safe but instead dangerous.
